M&C Saatchi Mobile has seen mobile ad spend in Australia and New Zealand surge this year. It’s currently working with mobile-first brands in the region including Sportsbet, Hotels Combined, iHeart Radio, Microsoft and Carousell.

Prior to this, Gersbach-Smith spent the past eight years in the digital sector, most recently as an account director at the Mobile agency within M&C Saatchi Group.

Says Gersbach-Smith: “It’s such an exciting time to be at the forefront of mobile marketing. I’m really looking forward to M&C Saatchi Mobile’s involvement in driving growth of true mobile-first businesses out there in Australia and across the region.”

Mobile ad spend in Australia and New Zealand is forecasted to account for over 50% of digital spend in 2017. Australia is leading the APAC region with high value, high spending mobile users whose average in-app revenue per capita supersedes those in neighbouring and UK markets.

Says Gersbach-Smith: “If brands aren’t recognising the importance of mobile to their businesses and involving the right specialists now, they will struggle to keep up with the many mobile-first disruptors waiting in the wings.”

In addition to Gersbach-Smith, M&C Saatchi Mobile have recently hired Dior Tuazon from Ikon as senior biddable account manager.  The M&C Saatchi Mobile team has experienced impressive talent growth over the past month with 35 new mobile specialists recruited across the region to service demand.
