FullSizeRImage.jpgLast Friday, while Cannes-goers nursed their sore heads whilst updating their daily diary, those left to run the ship at home took the afternoon to bring the taste of southern France to wintery Sydney at this year’s No Cannes Do lunch.

Hosted by Nylon Studios in partnership with The Butchery & The Refinery, the sun made a kind appearance as Methuselahs of Rosé flowed freely. Swapping Boulevard de la Croisette for the hills of Darlinghurst, the event took place on a private rooftop at the East Village Hotel, also known as the recently refurbished and famously historic Tradesman’s Arms Hotel.

IMG_3884 2.jpgSays Hamish Macdonald, Nylon: “After the constant stream of social media posts of industry folk looking rather better tanned and considerably more pleased with themselves continued to pile in; Freya, Amelia and I decided to take action. Celebrating the immense talent left behind to run the OzIMG_7958.jpg Industry on-shore, we took full advantage of the sunshine and did our fellow travellers more than proud!”

With a fantastic attendance filling the rooftop, the guests weren’t ready to let their counterparts have all the fun. Despite the lack of boats and bikinis, the afternoon was full of good food, great wine and warm company.

Says Freya Maddock,IMG_7963.jpg The Butchery: “A wonderful afternoon with some of advertisings finest. Great conversation, delicious canapés, flowing rose and all without the jetlag!”
