SGCH_Josh_Car (1).jpg‘Josh’s Story’, from Sydney-based director Stefan Wernik has caught the eye of judges at the Annecy International Animation Festival in France.

A true tale of homelessness and redemption, it is the only Australian project chosen for the ‘commissioned film’ competition at the Annecy festival (12-17 June 2017).

SGCH_Josh_Drink (1).jpgAnnecy is one of the most prestigious animation Festivals in the world, regularly hosting premieres from Disney, Dreamworks and European studios such as Illumination (Minions).

With more than 2600 films entered from all over the world Josh’s Story was one of onlySGCH_Josh_Hat (1).jpg 200 films chosen for the Festival. It will be battling worldwide entries for the celebrated Cristal Award, an award synonymous with the cream of international animation.

It is the second collaboration between not for profit housing charity SGCH and Armchair Productions director Stefan Wernik.

Says Wernik: ”Working SGCH_Josh_Kids (1).jpgwith SGCH is always an incredible experience, they always give us such great stories to tell. They really trust us and our process, and the team do an incredible job pushing themselves to produce something to be proud of. I think their efforts have been rewarded and we’re excited to be nominated at such an incredible Festival.”

Joshs’ Story was a flagship part of SGCH’s Annual report and its social media push.
