The agency is the creation of experiential expert and former director of Social Lion, Matt Flinn, and integrated comms agency Alt/Shift. Alt/Shift and Light Year Productions will partner to offer existing and new clients a fully comprehensive offering across experiential, public relations, content production and social media.

Light Year Productions’ general manager, Matt Flinn, brings more than 20 years’ experiential experience to the business, having worked closely with high profile brands throughout his career including Commonwealth Games, City of Melbourne, Myer, Revlon Professional and Rolex. His expertise has been applied to a number of large-scale hallmark events including Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, the Australian Open and Australian Grand Prix.

Light Year Productions will offer full spectrum servicing across experiential, from creative ideation through to post-execution impact reporting.

Says Flinn: “We exist for one purpose: to take brands places they’ve never been before. Our team think creatively and work with a meticulous eye to create consumer experiences that are more than memorable – they’re perception changing.”

“The word integration gets thrown around a bit, but we’re in the unique position where we’re working hand-in-hand with PR and social media experts every day to deliver a one-stop solution for our clients – a true triple threat.”

As creative comms agency Alt/Shift nears its first birthday, managing director at both Alt/Shift and Light Year Productions, Elly Hewitt, said the new agency held exciting opportunities for all involved.

Says Hewitt: “Since day one, experiential marketing has been a key expansion target for Alt/Shift, and Matt’s availability on the market prompted us to take the leap.

“His wealth of experience, attention to detail and determination to challenge event and experiential boundaries affords him a creative edge that complements the Alt/Shift approach.

“Most importantly, Matt fits our agency culture to an absolute tee. He already feels like part of the furniture.”

Echoing Alt/Shift’s central belief that an agency is only as good as its people, Flinn has brought with him an experienced team of production professionals, including senior producers Etta Curry, Jacqui Duca-Clemens and Gabriella Scardamaglia.
