The Brand Pool bolsters creative department with appointment of Richard Smith in the role of CD

RichardSmith_SCA (1).jpgIndependent creative agency The Brand Pool has again boosted its ranks, hiring Richard Smith to the position of creative director.

Smith arrives with over 16 years experience and brings a strong focus on digital, creative, UX, strategy, social and content solutions. Smith has won over 12 international and national creative and design awards having worked on some of Australia's most iconic brands namely the re-brand and hugely successful launch of 'CAN' for Commonwealth Bank.
Previous agency experience includes M&C Saatchi, VML and WiTH Collective and most recently at Southern Cross Austereo heading up its digital design and UX department.

Says Smith: "I'm passionate about creating experiences, services and products that enrich customer interaction with brands. What attracted me to The Brand Pool was their ability to unravel complex brand problems by distilling them into simple truths. Having worked in London and Sydney, I'm thrilled to be in the thriving, creative city of Newcastle to help the Brand Pool and their clients deliver world-class solutions.

"Interacting with brands is something we all do everyday, but how brands actually construct those narratives, stories, relationships and experiences is where the opportunity lies... and this is why I am excited to work with Lynn and the team at The Brand Pool."

Says Lynn Poole, managing director, The Brand Pool: "I'm thrilled to welcome Richard to our team. Richard has reached the top of his field working on some of the world's biggest brands and I'm very happy that he has decided to call Newcastle and The Brand Pool home.

"We're seeing more and more people coming from the metro cities to our awesome Newcastle, as it offers so much in terms of lifestyle and excellent business opportunities."
