Joe Purves and Matt Hunt (1).jpgMobile customer experience company, Geronimo, has agreed to acquire digital creative agency DMG (Digital Media Group). The move follows Geronimo’s purchase of Tapit last month, with both acquisitions building on their unique, end-to-end capability in mobile customer experience (MCX).

Geronimo works with brands including Commbank, Westfield and NIB, as well as many of Australia’s leading media agencies, focussing on mobile strategy, design, technology, data and media to help clients transform their customer experience through mobile.

The acquisition of DMG brings significant capability, experience and a strong client base to Geronimo. Founded in 2014, DMG has grown into one of Sydney’s preeminent digital creative agencies, creating digital experiences for Telstra, Citi, Jurlique, ABC, MCA, Hoyts, Seven Network and Fox Sports, last year winning a Rising Star award in the Deloitte Tech Fast 50.

Geronimo founder and CEO, Matt Hunt (above right) said DMG’s award-winning expertise compliments the company’s existing strategy, media and technology capability.

Says Hunt: “At Geronimo we are focussed on using mobile to build great customer experiences for brands. We believe clients need deep expertise in all areas of the mobile ecosystem, but they need it under one roof to create end-to-end solutions for their customers. DMG brings that deep expertise in mobile UI design and creative which is critical in how you build mobile-first customer experiences.

“As consumer behaviour continues to evolve, we view mobile as the backbone of the new customer experience, and more broadly, digital transformation. UI is an integral part of that picture, and we’re delighted to have DMG’s people, capabilities and renowned expertise supporting our brand and agency clients.

“DMG’s outstanding work across digital, responsive web design, iOS and Android App design, microsites and banner ads, make them an ideal compliment to Geronimo’s existing mobile technology stack and strategic consultancy services.”

DMG founder and CEO, Joe Purves (above left) said stepping into the Geronimo ecosystem opens up exciting opportunities.

Says Purves: “Since opening in 2014, DMG has enjoyed enormous growth working with some of Australia’s leading brands to create immersive experiences across mobile and web-based platforms.

“Connecting our design offering into Geronimo’s end-to-end approach to mobile offers a great opportunity to integrate our design principles into the overall customer experience, and help drive strong commercial outcomes for our clients. Our objective is to increase engagement and to add value.”

Geronimo, Tapit and DMG formally began working together on 1 September 2017.
