Tilt Brush3 (1).jpgExperiential production company Will O’Rourke has created a film series to showcase Google Tilt Brush, in association with design platform Semi Permanent.

Directed by Leilani Croucher, the documentary film and stereoscopic VR/360 film focus on two creative collaborations from four world-renowned artists. Produced at the Semi Permanent Sydney event in May, the two VR artworks were created by visual artist James Jean and Australian Ballet dancer Sharni Spencer, and architect Kelvin Ho working alongside letterist Luke Lucas. The artists explored the new technology and how the 3D painting software can change the design process in the development of new ideas and collaboration.

Tilt Brush4 (1).jpgGoogle Tilt Brush is a room scale 3D painting virtual reality application that won an Innovation Lion at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity in June. Semi Permanent is a global creative and design thinking platform. Will O’Rourke is a productionTilt Brush6 (1).jpg company focused on installations, performance and technology projects.

Says Murray Bell, founder/director, Semi Permanent: “At Semi Permanent we’re fascinated by the idea of Virtual Reality as a new medium for the creative industries to present their work. So when the opportunity arose to work withTilt Brush7 (1).jpg Google VR and explore their new 3D painting and sculpting technology, we wanted to give our audience a glimpse into how this technology might one day revolutionise how they work across art, design and collaboration.”
