Cabot’s ventures into new territory with the release of its new ‘Pinocchio’ cinema spot
Cabot’s has launched a truly unique cinema commercial for its Premium Woodcare range, Australia’s No 1 Anti Ageing Formula.
Directed by Jake Robb at Fiction, the commercial follows a day in the life of Pinocchio, now 42 years old and still yearning to be a real boy.
James Fisher and Stuart McCausland at Cabot’s gave full rein to allow Fiction to produce a dream job. Maintaining his youthful glow, Pinocchio fights the visible signs of ageing with the help of Cabot’s. Evoking a mixture of pathos and joy we champion Pinocchio as he soldiers on, ever the optimist.
Produced by Jackie Fish and shot by cinematographer Matt Wood the commercial was filmed over 2 days in an incredible location found by Fiona Wood at Reel Locations. CGI elements were seamlessly woven into the live puppetry by Louis Nikolovski and the commercial finished with sound design by Jason Murphy at Gas. Extra special thanks go to Dimitri and Michael, Emma Haarburger, Ben Morgan, Austin Haigh and Thomas Brownlow.

Beautifully done, but why does his nose grow at the end when he says “Dreams…they don’t die. I really believe that.” ??
Soooooo good! Great to see some creative and engaging advertising for a change. Can’t wait to see it on the big screen. Congrats to all.
Beautifully done, but to what end?
So far from the where the market is as to be ignored as utterly irrelevant or worse – not even noticed.
