DARLINGHURST-ARTS-CLUB-logo.jpgCameras are prohibited, you can run a 30-day account, it's a collective of some of Australia's brightest creative minds and by joining you're able to improve Sydney's overall cultural fabric and change the face of mental health in Australia. Sound interesting? Then read on.

Wednesday the 18th of October 2017 marked the establishment of the Darlinghurst Arts Club. Based at Tatler ~ the unofficial home for ad types for the past 30 years and the adjoining Bistro at 169 Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst, central to most agencies within Sydney ~ the club now closes its doors to the general public and will only be accessible to members and their guests Sunday through Thursday each week.

The first 100 members have already been hand-picked for their contribution to their respective industry ~ including a sizable allocation for the Advertising and TVC production industries via partners Campaign Brief, Heckler and Louis & Co, as well as RUSSH and YellowTrace who cover Fashion, Design and Architecture ~ people who are not only respected but those who share the club's vision. The end goal of this process is to create a carefully curated 500-strong membership that presents itself as the best forum for social and professional activities year round.

The club is designed to offer a legitimate place to hang mid-week with like-minded people who throughout the year will also be involved in talks, workshops, initiatives and fundraising. This project is far more interested in attracting the best and most capable minds, rather than money and status alone.
AUDIENCE: Memberships will be allocated to those working in or affiliated with music, art, theatre, advertising, design, media, tech and hospitality. Peppered with members involved in venture capital, law and finance. Those who are able to contribute their services and enable rapid development of any initiative no matter the scale.

PRIVILEGES: These vary depending on membership status. Run 30 day accounts billed as catering inclusive of GST. VIP reservation service, book up to 20 guests Sun - Thurs. 1st release invitations to all ticketed special event experiences; Invitation to all experiences and brand funded events; Member discounts and exclusives on food & beverage; Ability to book the venue exclusively throughout the year; Location fees waived for production in the space 7am - 7pm (castings, rehearsal, pitches, workshops, film production).

The first 30 days of the club's operation will be lenient towards non-members, and as official media partner, Campaign Brief encourages anyone in the advertising and TVC production industries interested to know more about the club and its aims to come down and meet the team. The club's founder Tim Clark will be in attendance each evening throughout October and November making himself available to those who wish to know more about the club, what it represents and how they can involve themselves in the longer term programming.

Says Clark: "Proud of its heritage, Darlinghurst Arts Club was established to facilitate a program of entertainment you would come to expect in cities such as London, Paris or New York. The membership program exists only to fund its production. It is not there to give anyone a false sense of self-worth or exclusivity. If you're looking for a members club where you can carry on like a pompous twit, you've come to the wrong place."

At its core the Darlinghurst Arts Club holds dear a strong philanthropic relationship to The Indigo Project, a centre for the modern mind that is changing the face of mental health in Australia. Tim and Mary Hoang, founder of The Indigo Project have partnered up with a vision to establish mental health and wellbeing best practice for creatives, entrepreneurs and CEOs. Their vision encapsulates technology and training solutions to deal with stress and burnout as well as immersive events and installations that teach its participants how to live and operate better. At the heart of their commitment is a desire unlock human potential, elevate the importance of the mind and foster meaningful connection.

Darlinghurst Arts Club has a list of sponsors and partners who introduce offers to members like exclusives on products, services and access to affiliated venues such as ACME located nearby in Rushcutters bay. Mitch Orr from ACME will cater on Wednesday evening with layers of entertainment, DJ's, and a secret live act to bring the night home.
