Moth Projects signs award winning Australian comedy director Jonathan Brough to its roster

With over 20 years of professional experience, Brough's work has screened at the Cannes, Edinburgh, Hof, Slamdance and Sydney Film Festivals, and screened on international TV networks, including Comedy Central and Netflix.

Says Brough: "I'm a bit late to the party, but I look forward to bringing 20 years of pent-up rage to the commercial arena."
Says Jonathan Samway, EP, Moth Projects: "Straight out funny, in fact his work is as funny as it gets. I am so happy to be able to send Jonathan's work to creatives looking for a new comedy voice."

Brough has amassed an impressive list of nominations for his work in Australian TV comedy. More than once he has ended up competing against himself in the same category.

New Zealand born, Brough has been flat-out since arriving in Australia to direct the celeb-heavy comedy anthology It's a Date. He then managed to survive a singing puppet and an alpaca while helming the series Sammy J and Randy in Rickett's Lane. For his work on the series, Brough took the Australian Director's Guild Award for Best Direction in a TV Comedy. The following year he was nominated twice in the comedy directing category: for acclaimed, Tasmanian-set comedy Rosehaven (which the Sydney Morning Herald praised as "clever, insightful, surprising" and "really funny"), and for hit sitcom The Family Law, which centres on the teenage son of a self-destructing Chinese-Australian family. He recently completed Ronny Chieng: International Student, the debut scripted show from Comedy Central's Daily Show correspondent Ronny Chieng.
