Gate 7 has signed a contract after a competitive pitching process which will see the agency continue to deliver all Australian and New Zealand marketing activity for Brand USA in the years ahead.

Says Jo Palmer, managing director, Gate 7: “The opportunity to promote the depth and breadth of America since launching Brand USA in Australia and New Zealand five years ago has been incredible. Our goal of transforming the perception of the U.S. from ‘the holiday of a lifetime’ to the understanding of the U.S. as representing a ‘lifetime of holidays’ is progressing well. We are excited to continue developing the interest and diverse visitation from this market into the future.”

Gate 7 has also evolved its collective of state and city-based tourism boards in the U.S., adding Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau to its roster of retainer clients, and working with Travel South, Choose Chicago and Tennessee Tourism & Memphis Travel on a range of projects.

·         Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) has appointed Gate 7 as its in-country representation agency to the Australian travel trade, following significant visitation growth out of the Australian market.

·         Travel South (a group of 12 state tourism boards in the southern US), has engaged the agency with a focus on digital marketing and PR projects aimed at increasing and diversifying awareness and demand of the region.

·         Choose Chicago, the destination marketing organisation for the city of Chicago, has contracted Gate 7 to deliver trade marketing projects including industry communications and product development, the first time the city’s tourism board has actively targeted the Australian market.

·         Tennessee Tourism & Memphis Travel has partnered with Gate7 to promote visitation to the state and city through the destination’s most iconic attribute: its music, via an in-market visit of Grammy-award winning band Old Crow Medicine Show.

Says Palmer: “We’re excited about these new and renewed client partnerships. The Australia and New Zealand markets are primed to increase visitation, spend and market share for the United States. The two countries combined make for one of the top international market sets for inbound long haul visitation.”
