The comedy series will be filled with Hollywood heavyweights including Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Zoolander), J.K Simmons (Whiplash, La La Land), Amy Sedaris (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights) and Tim Meadows (Train Wreck, Semi Pro). Reprising his role from the Australian version (commissioned by Stan) will be co creator Patrick Brammall (A Moody Christmas, Glitch).

Set over the course of a major drug cartel bust, No Activity follows the misadventures of two low-ranking cops who spend way too much time together; two criminals who are kept in the dark; two dispatch workers who haven’t really clicked; and two Mexican tunnelers who get stuck in a space unsuitable for a pair of total strangers.

No Activity will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Adam McKay and Will Ferrell’s production company Gary Sanchez and Funny Or Die. Jungle’s Trent O’Donnell and Jason Burrows will also serve as executive producers along with Patrick Brammall and Joe Farrell.

No Activity was at one stage conceived as a piece of branded content with the view of pitching the concept as a web series to a coffee brand. Like so many great branded content ideas, it didn’t go ahead.  However after independently shooting the pilot and showing it to TV execs, the premise was commissioned as a half hour television series by Stan.

No Activity is set to premiere in the US on CBS All Access on November 12 and in Australia on Stan on November 13.
