Rumble Studios announces ‘Young Tribe’ – the break undiscovered musos have been waiting for

YT_YELLOWsingleline_BlackBG.jpgMichael Szumowski, music supervisor at Rumble Studios, the Sydney based music production power house, is excited about a new project Rumble is embarking on – ‘Young Tribe’.

Says Szumowski: “Young Tribe is a boutique, curated collection of emerging songwriters and artists, covering a wide range of genres, who have already attracted attention of music industry blogs, youth radio station JJJ and other industry task makers.

“Traditionally songwriters and artists would need to be signed to a record label before getting a shot at fame and fortune, but we see another way to support emerging Australian talent, while at the same time providing our clients with a cost effective source of exciting new music for use in commercials & content.”

Morning Harvey.jpgYoung Tribe works like this. Szumowski listens too as much unsigned talent as he can, which is what he likes doing anyway. Then, drawing on his years of A&R experience working for such top outfits as Alberts, (Home of AC/DC + MORE), he then hand picks the talent he believes will go on to define newFlamingo Jones.jpg musical styles and also fit with Rumble’s cutting edge approach to delivering the best music solutions for clients. They are then showcased to the creative advertising community for various licensing opportunities. The creatives, if they like what they hear can then recommend the new artists to their clients with two great benefits attached, 1: the music is fresh 2: it doesn’t cost as much as music that hasRobbie Miller.jpg already emerged. (i.e. hits)

Says Szumowski: “Not only is Young Tribe a source of new material. Most of the artists are independent with no relationships with labels or publishers, so we can licence both ‘sides’ for our clients by dealing directly with the artists to agree a fair, one off fee specifically for the project at hand. The tunes potentially receive a lot of exposure and the composer/s and or artists retain their master, publishing, and performance rights.

“Sometimes the traditional sources of music can’t produce the desired outcome, either the track requested is such a big song the fee is prohibitive, or the band doesn’t want their work used for commercials or the musical style envisaged hasn’t been created yet.”

By engaging with emerging artists Rumble, through Young Tribe will be able to supply an even wider range of choices.

“Briefs come in all shapes and sizes.”

“Basically we want a song that will make your heart race, make you punch the air and bring a smile to your face.” (Multi National Agency)

“The style and the instrumentation should have a warmth and naturalness to it, rather than an over joyous or electronic sound. We’re thinking a catchy rhythmic acoustic riff that introduces some upbeat percussion (drums, hand claps, bass) as we transition into the sting. Ultimately leaving you feeling good.” (Award Winning Creative Team)

“We want Layla but we’ve only got $10,000.” (Eternal Optimist)

Young Tribe will, Szumowski firmly believes, uncover talent that might not have otherwise received the break they deserve. He already has a bank of new talent recorded and ready to go. Amongst them could well be the next Montaigne or San Cisco (2 of his earlier successes).
