With a line-up that’s bigger and bolder than ever before, the festival consists of two components; the first is a three-day festival at Federation Square, where guests will be invited to listen, participate, collaborate and explore, with headlining speakers hailing from global businesses like Netflix, NASA, T-Hub, Change Catalyst, IBM, Amazon, Tech Crunch and Canva. The second component, Pause Retreat, will run from 10-11 February at King Parrot Cottages & Event Centre, nestled in the picturesque Otway Ranges.

Now in its 8th year running, Pause Fest is Australasia’s leading creative, tech and business event, and is a catalyst for innovation and a uniter of industries. Priding itself on introducing new and exciting advancements in the technology and creative space, this year Pause Fest has established its festival theme as ‘Journey = Destination’. This will showcase the journeys, stories and achievements of guests and attendees, empowering them to amplify their messages within their sector and chosen fields.

From 7-9 February, guests are invited on a journey of discovery, as they move through three days of exploration; Day 1 will start with self-reflection, self-hacking and everything self-oriented. Day 2 will offer insight and tips on how to make your ideas from day one a reality, with everything startup, business building and engineering related. And, finally, Day 3 will provide an array of valuable skills and life hacks, with talks and workshops focusing on helping guests scale up, with demonstrations and talks from the businesses that are making a world of difference with their big ideas.

At the Pause Retreat, attending creatives will have the opportunity to experience an intimate weekend of innovation as they connect with the people who define and redefine tech. Discover the art of play as work and play collide in an immersive weekend workshop with Emmy Award Winning creative director, Gwen Gordon, and spend quality time with the industry’s savviest insiders, including Brian Green from Pixar, Mike Butcher from Tech Crunch, and Michael Sui from Airbnb.

Since its debut, Pause Fest has continued to grow year-on-year. This year, Pause Fest will see more than 150 global leaders assemble in Melbourne, to host thought-provoking panels, inspiring and educational talks, immersive workshops, and programs that open the door to discussions around Smart Future, Diversity, VR, Ai, Digital Culture, Blockchain and Brands and Marketing.

Says George Hedon, founder of Pause Fest: “I’m thrilled to see steady growth of Pause Fest year on year, now in it’s eight year. We are set to discuss the world leading tech trends right here from the digital and tech culture capital of Australia; Melbourne.”

Pause Fest has the support of the LaunchVic, which signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Pause Fest in 2017, valued at $300,000, to continue to support the Festival and deliver Australia’s premier creative, tech and business event here in Melbourne.

Tickets are now on sale, with only 1,000 on offer.
