Online Circle Digital releases Year in Review – 2017 Australian Facebook Performance Report

OC_FBReport2017.jpgIndependent Melbourne agency, Online Circle Digital has released its full year in Review – 2017 Facebook Performance Report, ranking the top performing Facebook business pages.

Comparing the data of more than 2,600 Australian brands from January 1 to December 31, 2017, Online Circle Digital’s data and insights team has used their proprietary tool Social Pulse (powered by IBM AI) to determine the most popular topics and most popular pages in 30 different categories.

Says Lucio Ribeiro, managing director, Online Circle Digital: “Although Media and Publishers still dominate the Facebook landscape in Australia, in 2017 we see Retail and NFP rising on the back of the Equal rights discussion. “Causes” have found their way into Facebook, with pages like “Animals Australia” finding its way into top 30 of most engaged pages.”

Which audience is the most engaged?

Retail has taken out the number one spot in terms of engagement, rising to the top above News and Media outlets TODAY and that’s life! that held the top two spots of our mid-year report. The top three engaged pages are as follows:

1.    Showpo

2.    Popcherry

3.    ABC News

Which industries performed the best?

This year’s report was dominated by the industry of News & Magazines. The top three best performing industries were:

1.    News and Magazines

2.    TV Shows

3.    Retail – Fashion
