Alt.vfx takes home Gold and Silver at AdFest 2018

Alt.vfx have been awarded Gold in Animation and Silver in VFX at AdFest 2018 in Thailand for its epic work on Tile ‘Lost Panda’.

The spot – directed by Mark Molloy for Smuggler and Deutsch LA – see Ernie the stuffed panda take an epic journey to find his owner, aided by the Tile community of users.

Alt’s talented team brought the panda to life in CG in a seamless production between Alt’s new studio in Los Angeles and their existing Australian studios in Brisbane and Sydney.

The stunning film was shot on various locations across Europe. Colin Renshaw, founder and VFX supervisor for Alt, worked closely with director Molloy and Smuggler to combine practical and digital to realize this piece of emotionally charged storytelling.

The Gold award marks the latest in an unbeaten run at AdFest, with Alt having taken home a Gold every year since the company began in 2011.

Accepting the awards on behalf of the Alt team, Takeshi Takada, founder and executive producer, said: “We are so proud of our artists’ work on this spot, and we are delighted to once again be recognised by the jury at AdFest. A huge thank you to all of the judges and organisers.”
