Master Builders unveils new TVCs for ‘Somebody Should’ve Asked’ campaign via Fenton Stephens
Master Builders Association of Victoria is extending its “Somebody Should’ve Asked” campaign with a trio of TVCs from agency Fenton Stephens and Truce Films.
Says Alex Fenton, creative director, Fenton Stephens: “When we started working with Master Builders, we realised that “Is Your Builder a Master Builder?” was a brand property far too valuable to replace. So our job has been to augment it and keep it fresh. This is phase two of that process.”
The TVCs, which will also appear online, take a humorous look at the kinds of mistakes that people could have to learn to live with if they choose the wrong builder. And, of course, offer the solution; to ask the magic question before someone asks you.
Says Leanne Edwards, general manager, marketing, policy and communications, Master Builders: “While there’s nothing funny about building blunders in real life, they certainly make amusing cautionary tales for anyone thinking of undertaking a major construction project. And the response to the campaign has been fantastic from consumers and our builder members alike.”

Great line!
Should’ve gone to Master Builders
Should have shot it on your phone in your lunch break.
Then promptly deleted it
The garage one is the best. Love the comic timing of him coming out of the boot.
Nicely directed for what they are.
These are nice. Especially the garage one
@seeing double
That is such a shit comparison. What, they’ve used the contraction ‘should’ve’ so it’s a ripoff?
Nice ads in my opinion.
They should put more realistic scenarios.
