Pause Fest 2019 calls on innovators, rulebreakers and changemakers for expressions of interest
What if you could take centre stage at Australasia’s biggest and best creative, tech and business festival? Back for its ninth year, Pause is seeking expressions of interest for a range of slots on their talent-stacked roster for 2019.
Pause alumni include thought leaders from the likes of Amazon, Netflix, NASA, Airbnb, Hyperloop, TechCrunch, FastCompany, Girls in Tech, This American Life, SXSW, Pixar and Lucasfilm, and now it’s your chance to put your ideas forward, inspire a new generation, and rub shoulders with the giants of innovation across the worlds of creative, tech and business.
Among other things, festival organisers are looking for crowd-commanding MCs, thought-leading speakers, wisdom-wielding experts and perspective-bending pioneers. The festival will showcase the most innovate professional minds from Australia and abroad across a slew of interactive
events, installations and exhibits, all packed into three inspiring days. Not only that, but the intimate Pause Retreat – with just 30 spots available – returns for another year.
Says George Hedon, founder and director, Pause: “Our speakers, MCs, experts and volunteers are the foundation of the festival. We love welcoming the world’s best and brightest to
our stage every year, and we love being able to share and promote their ideas about the future – and the present – of creative, business and tech with our loyal attendees.”
Pause 2018 saw over 15,000 people pass through festival doors. Attendees heard from 220 inspirational speakers who presented ideas that challenged perceptions and inspired new ways of thinking across creative, tech and business. It even
managed to out-trend Elon Musk’s Falcon Heavy launch with #Pause2018 on Twitter, and achieved a mind-boggling media reach of 40 million eyeballs worldwide.

The only rule for expressions of interest is that any ideas put forward must be ‘content you can’t Google’. Pause Fest will take place from 6-8 February 2019 at Federation Square and Pause Retreat from 8-10 at Otway Ranges. Applications close on 15 July 2018.
