Pride in Diversity is the national not-for-profit employer support program for LGBTI workplace inclusion specialising in HR, organisational change and workplace diversity. The organisation publishes the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), Australia’s national benchmarking instrument for LGBTI workplace inclusion from which Top Employers for LGBTI people is determined.

Says Mark Latchford (above left), associate director, Pride in Diversity: “We truly welcome Initiative as our first media agency member. Initiative’s commitment to LGBTI diversity and inclusion within the organisation is a true example of a confident and progressive business. Being a member of Pride in Diversity will assist Initiative in attracting and retaining the most diverse, creative and productive talent possible.”

Says Scott Laird (above right), director of people and culture, Initiative Australia: “It’s very important that everyone working in our network, as well as our clients and people we work with, are clear that Initiative welcomes all people who can contribute to our poise and progress as a business. People coming to work every day should know they are valued, accepted, and fully supported by programs like Pride in Diversity and others that are very active in the agency.”

Melissa Fein, CEO of Initiative Australia, said the agency’s senior leadership team regarded diversity as a primary attribute for the business.

Says Fein: “We want to ensure that anyone coming to work, or working with Initiative, feel they can excel and make a difference in an environment that is open and supportive where everyone can be their authentic selves.”
