Short Film number 6 For The Butchery At Cannes - white.jpgA short film collaboration between director Charles Williams and Butchery editor Dan Lee has been announced as one of the 8 short films in Official Selection at Cannes 2018. “All These Creatures” is the only Australian short film in the running for the prestigious Palme D’Or, and was selected from almost 4,000 entries.

Williams’ film stars 13-year-old Ethiopian/Australian, Yared Scott, as Tempest; a boy trying to understand the dark presence growing inside his father and the events leading up to an inexplicable tragedy.

Shot entirely on 16mm, with VFX support from The Refinery’s Drew Downes in Sydney, Chris Betteridge and Bevan Pascoe in Melbourne,”All These Creatures” is the sixth short film cut by The Butchery’s editors to make official selection at the Cannes Film Festival.

Lee’s TVC collaborations are also making news most notably with Revolver’s Matt Devine on “Rugby Fighter”. A beautiful and unexpected piece of work for Rebel Sport which was selected in Shots pick of the best for April as well as Bestads pick of the week.

“All These Creatures” is set to screen this week.
