Cannes Contenders: Innocean Australia

How will Australia perform at Cannes this year? In the lead up to the Festival, Campaign Brief will be showcasing the work we hope will impress the judges…

Innocean Australia

A young couple take their new Hyundai Kona through a car wash. As they exit, the car wash brushes follow them out. They can’t get enough of the new car and give it some extra special loving, continuing to polish and clean the car by rolling, rubbing, gyrating against it, even twerking on top of it. All to a high energy soundtrack composed especially for the commercial.  The voiceover says “Introducing the new Hyundai Kona. Way more fun than your car.”

A man enters a new road construction area at night. He looks a little suspect. He turns the generator lights on then starts up the white line marking machine. He stalls it.  Clearly he’s no expert. He begins to make a white line down the centre of the road but suddenly veers to the right, then to the left, weaving this way and that.  Is he mad? Is he drunk? He’s neither of those. We fade to black and then cut to the next morning. Suddenly a new Kia Stinger blasts into view, our man behind the wheel of a very different machine now. The Kia Stinger sways this way and that and does a 360, perfectly negotiating the course he’s created for himself the night before. A super reads. Stinger. For the drive of it.
