Clemenger BBDO Melbourne tops Campaign Brief’s THE WORK 2018: Clemenger BBDO Wellington, Cheil Hong Kong, The Nine Shanghai + Leo Burnett Melbourne round off the Top 5

This year Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has 30 Acceptances that made the cut from their 45 submitted entries. In THE WORK 2017 they also had the most acceptances with 37.

Sister agency, Clemenger BBDO Wellington was the second highest ranked agency in THE WORK 2018 with 26 Acceptances. It was a good increase for the agency as last year they ranked overall at #6.

At #3 in Asia Pacific is Cheil Worldwide Hong Kong and The Nine Shanghai. Cheil Worldwide Hong Kong continued their strong creative performance with 24 Acceptances. A star at award shows over the past 18 months, Cheil moved up to #3 from #10 position overall last year in THE WORK 2018.

Hot independent creative agency The Nine Shanghai is equal third best performing agency in THE WORK 2018 with a creditable 24 Acceptances from their 94 submitted entries this year.

At equal #6 with 19 Acceptances is top Thailand agency BBDO Bangkok and BMF Sydney.

The eighth highest ranked agencies are two Taiwanese agencies – ADK Taiwan and Ogilvy & Mather Taiwan.

YouRounding out this year’s top 10 agencies in THE WORK 2018 are 4 agencies with 16 Acceptances each – Colenso BBDO New Zealand, Hakuhodo Indonesia, Leo Burnett Taiwan and TBWA\Sydney

This year saw a strong showing across Asia-Pacific with agencies from Australia, China, Thailand, New Zealand, Taiwan and Hong Kong all ranked in the top 10 best performing agencies. Australia has 4 agencies in the Top 10 ranking and Taiwan, for the first time, has 3 with ADK Taiwan, Ogilvy & Mather Taiwan and Leo Burnett Taiwan all placed highly.

Making up the Top 20 in Asia Pacific are 4 agencies at #14 with 15 Acceptances – CHE Proximity Melbourne, GreyNJ United Bangkok, Ogilvy & Mather India, and Ogilvy & Mather Thailand. BWM Dentsu Australia and DDB Sydney have 14 Acceptances each ranking at equal #18. Completing the Top 20 is Beijing Dentsu Advertising, China with 13 Acceptances.

THE WORK is unique throughout the region in that only already award-winning ads and campaigns can be entered. This year 2,456 entries were received including 563 entries from Australia, 375 from Taiwan, 286 from China, 265 from Thailand, 221 from New Zealand, 210 from The Philippines and 162 from Indonesia.

Now in its 16th year, THE WORK 2017 features the very best advertising of the year from Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Published by Campaign Brief, THE WORK is recognised as a true record of creativity for the entire region.

 

To qualify for entry the ad or campaign must have already passed the test and been a finalist or winner at an international, regional or local awards show. Entries are open to all agencies, production companies, individuals and suppliers who are based in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

In terms of most Acceptances, Australia was the top performer with 300 from 563 entries. Taiwan had the second most Acceptances with 89 from their 375 entries followed by New Zealand, also with 89 from 221 entries. China had 81 Acceptances from 286 entries and Thailand had 66 entries from their 265 entries.
