Lynchy (left) always has strong game with a camera. I got lucky and captured him in his natural habitat. It’s Monday in Cannes, officially day #1. The Annual Campaign Brief Welcome Drinks have arrived. Hundreds of Aussie and Kiwi delegates have descended on Le Grande Hotel to pep each other up, after what is a stupidly long journey. Some people have come direct from the airport. Some people haven’t slept for two days. All people have come for Antipodean company (and drinks – thank you CB and all the sponsors).

Screen Shot 2018-06-19 at 8.23.15 am.jpgBefore the welcome drinks, today was essentially finalising our shortlist. As we honed in, we further defined what category and subcategory definitions really mean. It’s a tricky jigsaw, but time certainly worth us all investing in before we submit expensive entries to Cannes. We saw so many experiences that were in the wrong category, with nothing we could do to salvage them. Key questions that continually came up when discussing the great work: How did it show up in culture? What was its measure of impact? How well did it integrate into people’s lives? We really hope we found it all.
