Aussie expat agency JohnXHannes New York wins Ad Age Small Agency of the Year award

McKelveyCiatti.jpgEmmy award-winning independent creative collective​ JohnXHannes New York, owned by Aussie expats John McKelvey (left) and Hannes Ciatti (right),​ has gathered another distinguished award – this time ​Ad Age Small Agency of the Year​ under 10 employees – all while creating game-changing work for a well-rounded roster of clients.

The two-year old collective just left the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity with a ​Grand Prix​, a Gold Lion in Entertainment, two Silver Lions and another 8 shortlists, including the Titanium Lion – all adding to its growing list of professional acknowledgements. Recent work that brought ​JohnXHannes NY​ to the forefront include Montefiore’s “​Corazón – Give Your Heart,” a film that premiered globally at the Tribeca Film Festival with a supporting integrated campaign to drive organ donors. ​”Give Your Heart”​ uses interactive technology to allow people to become organ donors by simply holding their phones up their hearts, detecting their heartbeat. Their Squarespace work with​ John Malkovich ​and its Beats By Dre’s “Above the Noise​” also won at D&AD, One Show and Cannes.

Says Ciatti: “As the lines between advertising and entertainment continue to blur, we set our company up to be able to consistently make work people will choose to engage with.”

In addition to an Emmy win 2017 for its ​Super Bowl campaign​ for Squarespace featuring John Malkovich, its work was also honored by United Nations Women for the positive empowerment of women. Co-founders McKelvey and Ciatti have also won multiple Best of Show at The One Show, D&AD Pencils, Gold Effies, and Webbys.

Says McKelvey: “We really believe in the power of a small group of people coming together with big hearts. It’s great to win agency of the year, just two years in.”
