Fergus Stoddart, one of the founding partners commented on the achievement: “Reaching fifteen is no mean feat in our industry. The pace of change has been relentless, but we managed to evolve faster than many of our direct competitors in the content space. We set out to lead the content revolution and I’m proud we achieved some industry firsts. We were one of the first custom publishing companies to introduce agency disciplines. We were the first to publish an Australian custom magazine on iPad, in partnership with Adobe. We pushed hard into social earlier than others, and our campaign for the Victoria Derby ensured AAMI was the first Aussie financial services brand to use Snapchat. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved.”

Edge was founded 15 years ago in Manly as a travel publishing business, operating out of the Manly Pavilion. It quickly pivoted in its early years to custom publishing, winning contracts with P&O Cruises, Intercontinental Hotels and Jetset Travel World before moving into other industry sectors.

In around 2010 the company began evolving into a digitally-led, data-driven content marketing agency and then in 2017 merged with retail communications agency Creative Oasis to become a full-service creative and content business.

Says Stoddart: “We’re excited about the future, our offer of fusing advertising, content and media is really gaining traction and resonating well with clients.”

Says Richard Parker, executive planning director who joined Edge as a partner 6 years ago: “The pace of change is only going to accelerate. Last year, when we merged with Creative Oasis, we launched our agency proposition of ‘Creating Relevance. Relentlessly’ for our clients. The idea of this positioning was to help our clients adapt to this pace of change. The truth is that the philosophy applies just as much to us an agency – and Edge’s history really reflects that.”

The combined agency is now headed by group MD David Stretch who came over following the merger with Creative Oasis. Its head office is in Surry Hills, Sydney with a second office on Lonsdale St in Melbourne, and 50 staff across both offices.
