Mennell begins immediately based in Ikon’s Melbourne office, guiding the agency’s proven performance proposition and joining its national leadership team.  She was most recently partner, paid search and social, at Mindshare Worldwide in London, and has moved from the UK to take up the position.

Says Lesley Edwards, CEO, Ikon: “Louisa has an incredibly strong track record of developing successful, integrated and future-facing teams.

“She brings deep cross-category experience and a passion for building operational models that are both good for clients’ needs, while enabling people to fulfil their potential.  We believe this experience and her proven management credentials make her the perfect candidate to lead Ikon’s very strong performance product and its team of 25+ people.”

Responsible for the development of high level strategic thinking across all performance-based output, Mennell has also been tasked with the ongoing development of Ikon’s performance product, through the application of best practice digital approaches and the latest available technologies.  Prior to her role at Mindshare, she worked at a number of leading UK agencies including Zenith, Performics and TradeDoubler.

Says Mennell: “I’m delighted to be joining Ikon at such an exciting time; a business with a truly progressive perspective on delivering performance.  With an ever more complex media landscape, I’m excited to be part of an agency that challenges the status quo to deliver results for our clients.”

The high-level appointment follows a period of continued growth and expansion for Ikon’s Melbourne office, with several other senior hires recently made.  Ante Pejic has joined as digital strategy director and Chris Mizeracki has been appointed performance manager.

Last month Ikon also announced that Melissa Roberts would join as managing partner for Ikon Melbourne.

Says Edwards: “The Melbourne office continues to grow both in terms of output and new capability.  We’re incredibly excited about the future of the office and how the team continues to challenge conventions and build new business solutions.”

Ikon has also enjoyed success with more formal recognition; it has this month been awarded the YouTube Q2 Planning Award in Google’s prestigious Honours program. The award recognises the achievements of the very best Search and YouTube marketing agencies and providers across Australia and New Zealand — and more than 37 companies entered the competition in this, its second year.

To qualify, Search and Media marketing agencies were invited to enter the Awards and were measured against specific product metrics indicative of Search Excellence – metrics designed to deliver the best possible Search results for clients.
