Gavin-Levenshon (1).jpgGavin Levinsohn has resigned as managing director of Publicis Worldwide Australia, which covers Publicis Brisbane and Marcel Sydney. After three years with Publicis and 20 years in the advertising industry, Levinsohn has decided to try new business opportunities.

Marcel Sydney MDRyan Bernal and ECD Wes Hawes will continue to lead the agency. Both report to Michael Rebelo, CEO of Publicis Communications ANZ.

Michael Rebelo, CEO, Publicis Communications told CB: “Nobby (David Nobay) remains as creative chairman and Ryan and Wes will run the agency.

“We wish him the very best in his new endeavors.”

Levinsohn has been with Marcel since it launched at the beginning of 2016. Prior to Marcel, Levinsohn was group managing director, a role he was appointed to in May 2015, at Publicis Sydney where he took charge of Publicis’ 90-strong Sydney integrated operations that included full capabilities in advertising, content, CRM, mobile, brand design, loyalty and digital communications.

Prior to Publicis Sydney, Levinsohn was CEO of Moon Group in Australia, a role he had since November 2013.

At Moon he led the rapid evolution of the business from a design and branding agency into an integrated operation offering advertising, branding and design, digital communications, shopper marketing and employee engagement. He was the prime architect of the integrated ‘one-agency’ model for Westfield that enabled Moon Group to not only retain the account, but grow its remit.

Prior to Moon Levinsohn spent five years as managing director of Ogilvy Cape Town where he led a creative and business transformation of the agency and took it to the most awarded creative agency in South Africa. Widely recognised as a strong agency team leader, he was named “the most admired agency leader in South Africa” just prior to his move to Australia.
