Melbourne’s best to shine once again with the launch of the MADC Stars Creative Showcase
The MADC is set to showcase Melbourne’s best creative work once again.
With no gold, silver or bronze, the MADC Stars Creative Showcase promises to be a curated collection of the best of the best. A reimagined, reinvigorated and reformatted award show, with submissions just $50. The new pricing structure is designed to make participation accessible for all, and generate recognition for Melbourne’s worthiest work.
Submissions will be judged by an esteemed panel of awarded expats, chaired by past MADC president and renowned global creative, Matt Eastwood. Rather than one winner per category, a showcase of the very best Melbourne has to offer will be elevated and celebrated, with judges providing commentary on why the selected works are deserving of recognition.
Says Eastwood: “I found the MADC to be an incredible, tight-knit group of people who were more than willing to help me assimilate into advertising life when I lived in Melbourne. More importantly, the MADC helped me meet not just colleagues, but friends. I was able to find and support young creative talent, many of whom today lead agencies. I’m incredibly proud to be Chairman of Judges for the MADC Stars. I hope I can give back just a little of what the MADC gave me.”
The new format has been met with praise. The team at //Thirteen & Co. were the first to demonstrate their support and generosity by coming on as sponsors, and are now joined by Bang Bang and Mr Fox. The move has been followed by Melbourne’s premier agencies – big and small – with more than 15 confirmed to enter so far. The award part of the evening will culminate with the presentation of the Creative Showcase by Matt Eastwood, fresh from the US.
Says Adrian Bosich, newly appointed MADC president: “The Melbourne Advertising and Design Club is very close to my heart. I have so many fond memories of the MADC, and the camaraderie that flowed out of that sense of community. It’s where I met a legion of creatives and creators, many of whom are friends to this day. With the reimagined MADC Stars, I’m looking forward to coming together to talk about and celebrate our work. Most importantly, it’s imperative we create an environment where the next generation of thinkers and doers can thrive.”
The Creative Showcase will recognise local greatness, with a relaxed atmosphere to promote conversation and connection – an event Melbourne’s ad community didn’t remember they needed, until now. Thanks to sponsors, tickets will also be capped at just $50.
The jury will be announced shortly, with submissions closing in four weeks, strictly – 19 September (no extensions).

As a new entrant to this industry, glad to see there’s a category for us!

where are the SADC–ts?
Why are all the judges from California?
Good question, Legit. We’re using overseas judges for their relative objectivity. They are expats who have worked in and know the Australian market. They rank the work using an online judging system, then come together at the end for discussion to finalise the showcase (hence why it’s convenient that they are in close proximation). Happy to chat through in more detail, if you reach out at info@madc.com.au with your details, I can give you a call.
I haven’t been this excited about an event in the local ad industry since Hammans Chan sent his rendition of a Xmas classic to every creative department in town.
I love Hammans Chan!
