Steggles and M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment have launched a campaign to celebrate the NRL’s 2018 Women in League Round. Now in its second year, Steggles will celebrate the women who have supported and helped shape the Sydney Roosters players.

During the Roosters’ Round 22 match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs tonight (Friday 10 August), the Steggles logo, which has featured on the front of the iconic Roosters jersey since 2010, will be replaced with the name of an influential woman in each player’s life. The players have each personally selected the woman they would like to honour and this year the jerseys will feature mothers, grandmothers, wives, partners and daughters.

Says M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment General Manager Ben Greenslade: “We’re proud to see this campaign return for a second year as we continue to celebrate the women behind the Roosters. It’s rewarding to hear the players express gratitude for the opportunity to pay tribute to the women in their lives. We’ve also received great feedback from the Roosters and the NRL on the content that we’ve been able to create for the campaign this year.”

Yash Gandhi, Head of Marketing at Steggles, said: “This is something special – for us and for the team at Roosters. We are proud to enter the second season of this initiative and to continue to support the players as they honour the influential women that have made their success possible. We are proud of this initiative and I have no doubt that the players are looking forward to running out in these special jerseys on Friday night.”
