Little Black Book’s inaugural Immortal Awards sees the ‘very best work’ entered into award show

Immortal_blk.1_lrg.jpgLittle Black Book’s Immortal Awards were established this year to celebrate creative companies across the advertising industry who fight to protect and craft brilliant ideas. Free to enter for member companies of LBB, the Immortal Awards seeks to shake up the traditional model for benchmarking the creative work and talent across our industry.

Having limited submissions to a maximum of five per company, and streamlining entry points, LBB are now proud to boast a curated selection of the best work across the globe. The concentrated list is ready for the esteemed judging panel to review in New York in November.

Says Matt Cooper, founder, Little Black Book: “We are really proud of what we have achieved with this award. We don’t want to be another award show that boasts about a high number of entries, in fact quite the opposite. We celebrate the quality, not the quantity of our entries.”

Jurors will whittle down the already small, but carefully considered list of entries down to a shorter shortlist of work. Entries that make the shortlist will be in the running for a Commendation, an alternative to traditional gold standard status. The very best work will receive an Immortal Award, reserved for creative executions that jurors believe will live long in the memory of their audiences.

The Immortal Award jury spans agency, production, post and platform and includes the likes of VML’s Global CCO Debbi Vandeven, Droga5’s chief creation officer, Sally-Ann Dale and Instagram’s Kay Hsu.

Says Paul Monan, award director, Immortal Awards: “The Immortal Awards was created to shake up the bloated creative awards scene. No over-inflated categories, no pressure on companies to shell out crazy sums to make multiple entries. We believe we’ve created an award show that’s fit for 2018. By outlining a level playing field that is not based on spending power, we can truly celebrate creativity.”

Says Laura Swinton, editor-in-chief and managing director, Little Black Book: “We know that by capping entries we’re not chasing the same end goal as the old school shows. And we know that by calling our show The Immortal Awards we’re aiming pretty high too and setting a high standard for ourselves! But isn’t that what creative awards should be about?”
