Orchard CD Tim Condrick set to host New York Festivals Global Awards live judging session

0.jpgNew York Festivals Global Awards, honoring the World's Best Healthcare and Wellness Advertising, announced the 2018 Global Awards live judging session in Sydney, Australia on September 27th at Orchard.

The live session, organized by Grand Jury member and live session host Tim Condrick (left), creative director for Orchard Australia includes members from some of Sydney's most prominent advertising agencies. This esteemed panel of industry experts will assemble for live judging at the review entries and to help determine the 2018 Global Awards shortlist.

Says Condrick: "It's a great honour to host the Australian judging session. However, perhaps most importantly, I think the real value of it is that it offers each of us (who spend most of the year within our own separate creative bubbles) an opportunity to sit in one room at one time and challenge our different perspectives, approaches and strengths as they relate to creativity and hopefully come away recalibrated and renewed. And the panel ain't half bad bunch of people either!"
The 2018 Australia live session includes the follow Grand Jury members:

  • Tim Condrick, Creative Director, Orchard
  • Thomas Dirnberger, Creative Director & Partner, Forte Agency
  • Hugh Fitzhardinge Executive Creative Director, McCann Health Australia
  • Grant Foster, Creative Director, Ward6
  • Nathalie Garcia Senior Creative/Art Director, emotivate Healthcare Communications
  • Emily Knight-Kristoffersen, Sc (Hons), MSc, PGDip Head of Copy, Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness
  • Niki Mortimer, Senior Copywriter, Insight
  • Toby Pickford, Chief Creative Officer WPP Health & Wellness AUNZ Creative Director Ogilvy CommonHealth
  • Darren Seddon, Senior Creative, Freelance
  • Scott Smith, Creative Director, DDB Remedy

Says Fran Pollaro, executive director, Global Awards: "There is breakthrough work coming out of Australia and the Global Awards is thrilled to have Orchard host our live session in Australia. The expansion of the Global Awards live sessions expand our roots a bit further around the world so entries from all over can be viewed and discussed by the top minds in healthcare & wellness and pharma advertising by region and varying cultures."

Global Awards live sessions provide the opportunity to review digital-based works and collateral materials that support a campaign, and which cannot be judged online. Live sessions allow jurors to examine in detail multi-paged works including: sales kits, direct mail, brochures, point of purchase displays, and annual reports and select entries that will achieve shortlist status.

Jurors participating in the Global Awards live session will review innovative entries from the healthcare and wellness space representing emerging trends that push the creative envelope and advance the brand.

Says Condrick: "I'll be looking for creative that is unique to the health space that could have only been produced for a healthcare client. Something that offers a unique output based on creativity, technology and data.

"It is exactly the combination of creativity, technology and data that is most relevant to changing people's lives, ads by themselves aren't really saving anyone's life but a clever application that creatively combines data and technology to find rare disease patients can both save a person's life, promote the brand and leave us feeling warm and fuzzy. Ahhhh that's nice isn't it?"

The Global Awards Grand Jury of prominent international healthcare and wellness executives will assemble this September around the world to judge creative work submitted to the 2018 competition. For 2018, the Global awards has organized 5 additional live Grand Jury sessions with international healthcare agencies in Chicago, Johannesburg, Mumbai, London, and Sao Paulo.

Judging sessions will also take place online, allowing entries to be viewed comprehensively by an international jury from regions with both established and growing healthcare markets. Jury selection is underway and both Executive and Grand Jury will be announced in the coming weeks.

2018 Global Award winners will be announced this November at celebrations in New York City and Sydney, Australia.
