FINCH director Wade Shotter wins excellence award at One Reeler for short film “FURS”
FINCH’s director Wade Shotter proves a sound versatility not only in his commercial work but further in narrative, with his bold and well awarded short film “FURS.”
Along with campaigns for Uber, Qantas, DB Export, Target, Vodafone and more, Shotter adds this artfully told short form comedy to his reel. This adapted story of a fussy writer and his large ego has resonated vastly in the last two weeks – winning an excellence award at One Reeler and subsequently, picking up four individual craft acknowledgements at the Independent Short Awards. These nods included Best Comedy, Best First Time Director and Best Music and Cinematography – a notable, assuring collection of accolades.
Shotter has an impressive, perceptive approach to both visual and comedy work that FINCH has harnessed since signing. It is now becoming abundantly clear that this talent is transcending the commercial realm and spilling into the vast and exciting sphere of long form filmmaking.
