Jonathan Klingender and Craig McKay launch new retail creative agency Watch This Space

WTS (1).jpgFormer executives of Omnicom’s creative retail agency TRO, Jonathan Klingender (left) and Craig McKay (right) have launched their own creative retail agency, Watch This Space (WTS), that will continue to service long standing clients under the newly branded boutique agency.

 

Says WTS managing director Jonathan Klingender, returning to Australia after 7 years in Hong Kong: “The timing was right for TRO to exit Australasia and for Craig and I to put our twenty plus years of experience into our own agency. We will continue to service longstanding and loyal clients including Telstra under the WTS brand.

 

“We are both excited and passionate about creative retail and the technological innovation we are able to develop at WTS. This is our focus and we believe we offer highly creative and innovative retail strategies.”

McKay and Klingender have worked together on retail and event customer experience projects for the last 15 years. Working across Europe, Asia and the US McKay and Klingender have delivered innovative creative technology solutions for clients such as BMW, Madam Tussauds, Champions League, Vogue, Studio City Macau, Nestle, Porsche, WeChat, Nike and many more.

 

WTS was officially started in late 2017 but has just this week officially launched the brand and its offering to market.

 

Says Craig McKay, creative director, WTS: “We have just launched to market our design prototypes. The retail and event experiences we are offering will take creative technology to the next level.”

 

WTS showcased technology at Sydney and Melbourne events that have been in the making for the past 12 months.

 

The showcase highlighted retail solutions for both existing and prototype technology that displays the use of creative and digital technology in creating world class experiences in retail.

 

The showcase included:

 

Interactive Window:- which demonstrated how dead window space can be transformed into 24hr touch interactives. With this example users will be able to browse through a retailers fashion collection.

 

Interactive Projection:- The interactive projection wall highlights the leaps and bounds that projection tech is making and how simple static displays can become fun and playful interactive spaces.

 

Audience Tracking Tech:- WTS debuted two new pieces of cutting-edge audience tracking technology which have been developed in-house using components from autonomous vehicles.

 

AR Mobile Apps:- Using standard literature as a base, these apps allow brands  to create a more impactful and insightful experience. These apps can be utilised through Facebook AR, giving more and more people access to AR technology.

 

AR Interactive Screen:- This AR concept shows the ways in which AR technology can be deployed in the retail environment, providing consumers with a more intuitive and informative shopping experience.  

 

AR Make Up Experience:- This successful AR make up experience, currently in use in Madame Tussauds in Sydney, allows users to try on several makeup products without lifting a brush, as well as being able to share their new look instantly.

 

Converge:-  Another intuitive solution for use in the retail environment, the Converge system is an amazing piece of technology which allows users to browse and compare multiple products in a physical and digital environment ensuring online and offline deliver the same experience.
