RIOT Content has finally found enough time to write a press release and announce its launch

Dave Christison.jpgTwelve months since opening its doors, RIOT Content, a full service production studio, has finally got around to officially announcing its entrance into the Australian market. This is it.

Specialising in TVCs, content and viral campaigns, RIOT has hit the ground running, creating content for clients such as Toyota, Lynx, 28 Degrees, Steggles, Custom Plates, Chemist Warehouse, Bondi Sands and Realestate.com.au and has amassed over 70 million unpaid online views through viral campaigns for Woodstock Bourbon and Volkswagen.

RIOT works alongside agencies to help bring their creative visions to life. Its services include full service production, post production and VFX along with concept ideation, scripting and strategic seeding and distribution services for viral campaigns.

Founded by Dave Christison (pictured), RIOT’s modus operandi is a hands-on, no-bs approach to high-end content production. As its website states: “we don’t cut corners, we simply don’t squander budgets with unnecessary luxuries and inflated line items. In short, we get sh*t done on time, on budget and for the highest quality the budget will allow.” With a network of rostered and freelance directors, along with some of the best production crew and post production specialists in the industry, RIOT caters for productions of any budget or scale.

As founder of RIOT, Christison serves as managing director and executive producer, overseeing production of RIOT’s diverse and rapidly growing production slate.

Christison has been responsible for championing RIOT’s speciality in the viral landscape, whereby they conceive, create and strategically seed viral video campaigns, repeatedly amassing world wide news coverage and continually achieving what can best be described as a sh*t tonne of views. Having recently executed the Volkswagen Polo ‘Unfail’ campaign for DDB Sydney, Christison’s unpaid view count just ticked over half a billion online views, including past campaigns for Samsung, Roadshow Films, V Energy, Hawthorn Football Club and Woodstock Bourbon. This accumulative work has picked up some of the ad industry’s top honours including a One Show Gold Pencil, a Webby a New York FestivalL, a Golden Trailer and a Mobius Best of Show.

His previous work as managing director and EP of The Woolshed Company resulted in the company taking out B&T’s Highly Commended Production Company of the Year in 2016 along with being nominated for Emerging Agency of the Year at the B&T Awards.

Some of RIOT’s most recent work includes the instant classic ‘If It Wasn’t For Pino!‘ and Volkswagen Polo’s ‘Unfail’ campaign, which achieved world wide news coverage and amassed over 30 million unpaid online views within its first week of release. Both campaigns were directed by on roster director Matt Weston, who most recently picked up a Silver Cannes Lions for his work on CHE Proximity’s Swann Insurance ‘Inconvenience Store’ campaign.

Directing duo Jeff+Pete also joined the team earlier this year. The half-Aussie (Pete) half-Philly (Jeff) team have had some career highlights so far which include turning a perfectly friendly Park Ranger into a stalker for Dr. Pepper, turning a loving mother into a pole vaulter for Yahoo!, and somehow convincing Venus Williams to do yoga for American Express.

And most recent to board the ship is Sydney based director Marty Moynihan, who’s latest work features Dustin Martin in the Bonds Tech Undies TVC, produced by Good Cop Bad Cop. Moynihan tends to spend his time going from one extreme to the other, from sports stars to rock stars, as he’s currently in post production on a Powderfinger doco set for release later this month.
