London International Awards: Australia ranks #3 in the world; Host/Havas Sydney crowned Regional Agency OTY; Havas named Regional Network; Rumble Studios Sydney named Global + Regional Music & Sound Company OTY; FINCH named Regional Production Company OTY

PR-Palau-Hero-ISLAND_1920x1080-thumb-400x224-273306.jpgLIA, one of the most prestigious Global award shows in Advertising, Digital, Technology driven work, Health & Pharma and Branded Entertainment, has today announced the winners. The 33rd Annual London International Awards judging convened over a 10-day period. The juries, drawn from the world’s most recognized talent and presided over by industry leaders, viewed and scored every entry within their medium, ensuring that all the work was judged equally.

This year Australia brought home 53 of the coveted LIA statues – two Grand LIAs, 17 Gold, 14 Silver, 20 Bronze and attained 23 Finalists.

Highlights for Australia include: Host/Havas, Sydney has taken out the Regional Agency of the Year title for Australia / New Zealand and also snapped two Grand LIAs for Palau Legacy Project ‘Palau Pledge’; Havas has been named Regional Network of the Year for Australia / New Zealand; Rumble Studios, Sydney has been named Global Music & Sound Company of the Year and Regional Music & Sound Company for Australia / New Zealand; and FINCH has been named Regional Production Company of the Year for Australia / New Zealand.

RumbleLogo.jpgIn total 704 LIA statues, in addition to finalists, were awarded from 40 countries with Australia ranking #3. The top countries were United States (209), Germany (111), Australia (53), United Kingdom (50), and Canada (41).

Says Barbara Levy, President of LIA: “Australia has always shone at LIA. Year after year, we see so many great pieces of work coming out from there.  This is an exceptional year for Australia. Host Havas, Sydney led the charge by winning two Grand LIAs for Design and Ambient and the Regional Agency of the Year. On top of that Rumble Studios, Sydney was awarded as the Global Music & Sound Company of the Year and FINCH as the Regional Production Company of the Year.   I want to congratulate all the winners for continuing to raise the standards for the industry.”

Host/Havas, Sydney was named Regional Agency of the Year for Australia / New Zealand, they were also awarded the two Grand LIAs for the same piece of work for the Palau Legacy Project. The Design jury led by Isabelle Dahlborg Lidstrom, head of experience / creative director at GROW Stockholm awarded Palau Pledge the Design Grand LIA, whilst the Ambient, Print, Poster and Billboard jury led by Jeremy Craigen, Global CCO at Innocean awarded it the Ambient Grand LIA. Six different juries awarded Statues to this same piece of work: Ambient, Design, Integration, Non-Traditional, The NEW and Verbal Identity.

Host/Havas, Sydney was also awarded six Gold, two Silver and one Bronze LIA. They also attained one Finalist.

These wins attributed to Havas being named Regional Network of the Year for Australia / New Zealand.

Adds Dahlborg Lidstrom: “We, the jury, felt that Palau was deserving of the Grand LIA in Design.  It was to promote sustainability, an important issue for the world today.  Not only was the idea big, the craftsmanship of the passport and stamp was also faultless.”

Rumble Studios, Sydney was awarded the Global Music & Sound Company of the Year having the highest point score of all Music & Sound companies across the globe. Rumble Studios, Sydney was also named Regional Music & Sound Company of the Year for the Australia / New Zealand region being credited for work that won four companies a total of 9 statues and 2 Finalists.

LIA’s Of The Year Awards are calculated based on a point system of winning work chosen by the Juries across all media. LIA uses the creative credits that are input at time of entry to award those points. The Network, Agency, Production Company, Post-Production Company, Music & Sound Company, Radio & Audio Company and Health and Medical Companies that attain the highest scores based on entries that win Statues or attain Finalists status will be honored with Of The Year Award. 

The Regional Production Company of the Year for Australia / New Zealand was awarded to FINCH, Sydney. In addition to its statue wins they were credited for winning work entered by three agencies. The agencies, BWM, Host/Havas and Colenso BBDO brought home a combined 17 statues and 3 Finalists that FINCH worked on.
