The Australia Day Council of NSW, supported by the Department of Premier and Cabinet has engaged with Hello Social to provide 12 hours of content creation, social listening, live on-ground content capture and community management for Australia Day 2019.

From the country to the city, Australia Day is an opportunity to reflect on the people, culture, and landscape, and to celebrate what it is to be Australian. Part of Hello Social’s role on the day will be to capture the energy and enthusiasm of attendees and event goers celebrating the day through a plethora of events held around Sydney Harbour, local community events, family gatherings, and even backyard parties.

Under the banner of this year’s official event theme ‘Australia Day – Everyone, Every Story’, Hello Social will look to share the many and diverse stories from Australians across the country and capture the different ways they celebrate their day.

Says Sam Kelly, director of client services, Hello Social: “Hello Social is honoured to be partnering work with the Australia Day Council of NSW to bring the 2019 Australia Day celebrations and event coverage to life on social media.

“Hello Social will deploy content capture teams on the ground to broadcast key events live from the best vantage points, manage a social media command centre to share content from community events and celebrations across the country as well as publish inspiring stories from Indigenous Australians and people with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and history.

“While thousands are expected to enjoy the live events taking place on and around Sydney Harbour, our social media program will allow even more Australians to witness the showcase and participate in the conversation from anywhere in the world.

“I encourage anyone who can’t attend the live events to visit the Australia Day Facebook page or Instagram account where they can enjoy the spectacular from the palm of their hand.”

Whether it’s at Circular Quay, the Rocks or Darling Harbour, join the conversation on the day by using the hashtags #AustraliaDay and #AusDaySyd and share what Australia Day means to you.
