//Thirteen & Co’s ‘The Craft’ awarded 1st Place at the 7th annual One Screen Short Film Festival

AS_TheCraft (1).jpg//Thirteen & Co director Armand de Saint-Salvy’s dramatic short film “The Craft” has taken out 1st place in the Fiction category of the seventh annual One Screen Short Film Festival, the premiere short film festival from The One Club for Creativity that unites the film and advertising worlds.

“The Craft” had the prestigious honour of opening the event, held at the SVA Theatre MAP in New York late last last week.

It was fascinating to see passion projects screen along side multi million dollar brand shorts. Currently, there is a thirst for branded stories where entertainment is the focus. It’s an exciting time to be a film maker.”

The film, written by Saint-Salvy to give audiences an insight into the powerful and dangerous emotional techniques actors use to create a performances, was filmed over a very intense long shoot day in 2018 with the actors Zoe Terakes and Helen Thompson. The Craft was produced by Benjamin O’Donnell and jointly funded by Saint-Salvy and production collective  //Thirteen & Co.

One Screen is part of The One Club for Creativity, the foremost global non-profit organization celebrating creative excellence in advertising and design.  One Screen focuses on all forms and aspects of short films — commercials, music videos, short narratives, spec work, passion projects, movie poster design, credits, etc. and celebrates the best of the film and ad industries with no limitation and total artistic freedom, all on one screen.  

Entries were received this year from 45 countries and judged by a 79-person jury of leading film directors, producers, ad agency creatives and heads of production companies.  

Says Jonathan Jirjis, executive producer at One Screen and The One Club: “One Screen has become a showcase for the passion projects of accomplished filmmakers, as well as a high-visibility forum to recognize promising young talent.
