Budweiser Brazil and Africa Sao Paulo produce magazine print ad that doubles as a vinyl record

Budweiser Brazil hired The Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am to record a single called Great Times, and then produced it as a print ad that doubles as a vinyl record.
The ad, which runs in magazines and can be taken out and played on a record turntable, was created by Africa, Sao Paulo.

A company named ‘Evertone’ were producing their ‘soundsheets’ in the US 40 years ago. Nothing’s new in the AdBiz.
One of the best examples of these records removed from a magazine was in Mad magazine back in the sixties. Depending on where you placed the stylus, the record played one of three or four different versions of a song called ‘It’s a Super Spectacular Day’. Yes, I really am old enough to remember that, and the fact that I can remember with such detail means that dementia hasn’t kicked in yet. So watch out, kiddies.
Nice idea. Would have been more credible if they had used a Technics 1200 turntable and a decent track that DJ’s actually wanted to play.
