Gotye_live_visuals_2.jpgPhotoplay’s Lucinda Schreiber was commissioned by Wally De Backer, aka Gotye, to create visuals for his current worldwide tour. Schreiber’s animations have been playing on giant screens as an awesome backdrop to Gotye’s beautiful music as the tour moves across the USA and heads across Europe in November.

Gotye approached Schreiber because he loved her signature quirkly illustration and crafty animation style.

Indeed, audiences are held in jubilant daze with her quirky morphing bear-man in Smoke and Mirrors, which Gotye Twittered about to say “(her visuals} are such a joy Goyte_Live_visuals_animation_5.jpgto perform in front of”.

Schreiber’s newest animation is called ‘What do you Want’. Schreiber says she was “drawn to telling it in a more narrative way where the artist is transformed through his own creation and the audience is transported with him”.

This dark and somewhat spooky animation sees wide-eyed paper puppets, werewolves, drumming monkeys and dancing skeletons made from paper cut-outs and beautifully brought to life in stop-motion.
