Melbourne direct and digital agency OgilvyOne has further dialled up its strategy offer, announcing the hire of Andrew Pink (left) as strategy director.

A highly credentialed DM/CRM/digital practitioner with more than 20 years experience in both local and global roles, Pink’s hire is effective immediately and will see him join forces with the strategy and planning team at the Ogilvy agency.

Pink has been tasked with driving the OgilvyOne strategic offer, working closely across all clients and their data, while ensuring close collaboration with the broader Ogilvy group planning and analytics teams in Melbourne, Sydney and internationally.

OgilvyOne Melbourne general manager Nick Muncaster (right) said Pink’s appointment was “a fantastic addition to an already-strong OgilvyOne team”.

Says Muncaster: “Andrew is an outstanding and recognised practitioner, and his appointment to this important role demonstrates our ongoing commitment to having the best of breed working here at Ogilvy. His broad experience and strong business acumen will be a great addition to the team.”

Pink’s career began more than 20 years ago, working in Europe at agencies such as Grey, McCanns and Ogilvy on a number of high-profile accounts including P&G, Unilever, Boots, GSK, Ford and Shell.

He then worked at Wunderman in London as head of direct & digital business strategy before making a move to Australia to help lead Wunderman Melbourne, working across the key accounts of Ford, Origin Energy and Yellow Pages.

His most recent agency position was at DraftFCB as head of integration/strategy working across its entire client base. He then moved to client-side, spending the past 2 years working in sales and marketing roles giving him valuable client-based insight.

Ogilvy Melbourne’s head of brand strategy Gavin MacMillan said Pink would bring a range of broad and deep skills to the team, including one-to-one and CRM, analytics, customer segmentation, planning across multiple platforms, communications strategy, plus business planning and ROI forecasting.

Says MacMillan: “Andrew’s addition to the team further cements our strategy offer which is the envy of any agency network in Australia. We’re very excited to have him on board.”

Pink said he was looking forward to rejoining the “powerhouse of Ogilvy”.

Says Pink: “It’s brilliant to be back at Ogilvy and working closely with Nick, Gavin and the talented OgilvyOne team. I love the challenge of using data to present actionable insights that deliver truly great work, and I’m looking forward to driving real growth for our clients business.”

Pink has been a Board member of ADMA, a mentor and teacher to a number of students and a regular conference speaker.
