MOULT-NEW=LATEST-web.jpgTom Moult, who stepped down as executive chairman of Ogilvy & Mather Australia in August last year, after less than two years in the role, has resurfaced as an independent advertising and marketing adviser to a cluster of major advertisers, yet to be revealed.

The new Sydney-based venture is called Walker Moult – Walker being the maiden name of Moult’s dearly departed grandmother.

“It’s not an agency and it’s not a pitch consultant,” says Moult. “After over thirty years in the agency game, I’ve decided to do something different and more low-key. I’m simply offering independent, senior and discreet advice to advertisers.”

“The advertising business has splintered, clients are doing more and more internally, and I’m not convinced that even big agencies have either the will or the resource to invest sufficiently to make the most of the opportunities that will grow from ‘big data’. It’s become apparent to me that there are clients out there who value advice from someone who is not pushing a particular barrow or trying to sell them a raft of services.”

Moult says he not looking for long-term relationships. He wants to simply add value and then let his clients get on with it.

Widely recognised as one of the industry’s leading figures, Moult has more than 30 years experience in advertising and communications, most recently as chairman of Euro RSCG South Pacific Group. Founder of the highly-awarded The Moult Agency, he has also worked in senior creative roles for Euro RSCG Worldwide, The Ball Partnership, Saatchi and Saatchi Sydney, and JWT both in London and Sydney.
