Amanda.jpgUs Sydney (now Joy) has emerged as the only Australian entry to be nominated in the TV & Cinema Communications category for its ‘Amanda on Demand‘ campaign for SBS On Demand at the 51st annual D&AD judging event taking place this week at London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre.

dandad.jpgCampaigns from the BBC and Channel Four have also been judged amongst the best TV & Cinema Communications work.

Says Chris Bovill, foreman of the TV & Cinema Communications jury at D&AD 2013: “The great thing about the TV & Cinema Communications category is that it covers all kinds of craft; from the BBC Love idents which is a beautiful piece of moving graphic design to the Skyfall title sequence – these are amongst the works that really stand out for me this year; where the creative, director and animators have put their all into their work. This year, I’m looking for ideas that are brilliant, first and foremost, but which also show great craft.”

Nominations in the category went to:

  • Amanda on Demand  by Us Sydney for SBS On Demand
  • France 5 Idents by Les Télécréateurs for  France 5
  • Meet the Superhumans by 4Creative for Channel 4
  • Stadium UK by RKCR/Y&R for BBC Sport

There were a further 5 that were awarded In-Book status by the judging panel for the TV & Cinema Communications category.

The In-Book work, which will appear in the 51st D&AD Annual, are:

  • Funny Fortnight by 4Creative for Funny Fortnight
