London International Awards names 2013 TV/Cinema/Online Film – Music and Sound jury

Australia’s Ramesh Sathiah will lead the London International Awards 2013 TV/Cinema/Online Film – Music and Sound Jury, that will gather in Las Vegas in October to award gongs to the best work.

Sathiah, a partner and creative director of Song Zu, Australasia’s most awarded Music and Sound Design Company, will be joined by four American and one British sound and music professionals.

On the jury are:

Scott Cymbala – Managing Partner/Executive Producer, Massive Music, Los Angeles

Jessica Dierauer – Executive Producer of Music & Creative Content, Y&R, New York

Jeff Elmassian – Owner/Creative Director, Endless Noise, Santa Monica

David Leinheardt – Managing Director/Executive Producer, Duotone Audio Group, New York

Jack Sedgwick – Sound Designer, Wave Studios, London

Jury President Ramesh remarked on the importance of Sound and Music in the Creative Process: “Once the film has been shot and edited, there is one powerful toolset at the filmmaker’s disposal that can transform how the audience feels. The endless colours, emotions and textures that music and sound can offer, is something we never get tired of exploring. I look forward to seeing and hearing the best work in the world this year during the LIA judging in October.”

LIA will open their Entry System in May with a final deadline at the end of July.

The Awards Judging is from 4th-12th October 2013 in Las Vegas.

Barbara Levy, Founder and President of LIA, continues her innovative leadership of the awards extending the LIA Educational Initiative introduced last year.

In 2012, LIA launched the Junior ‘Creative Conversations’ programme targeted to Young Creative’s from around the globe. As a way to give back to the industry, LIA coordinated a week of Seminars, Conversations, lunches and dinners twith the Juries hat were educational and stimulated discussions around the future of Advertising. The entire initiative, including travel, meals and hotel expenses, was fully funded by LIA.

The 2012 ‘Creative Conversations’ speakers included: Ted Royer, Susan Credle, Israel Diaz, Sonal Dabral, Tony Calcao, Jeremy Craigen, Faris Yakob, Neil French, Doerte Spengler-Ahrens, Bob Garfield, Jonathon Ker, Ralph van Dijk, Scott Elias and Phil Growick.
