P3316312.jpgLeading Australian post-production house Fin Designs + Effects has enhanced their VFX offering with the appointment of highly respected flame artist, Richard Betts.

Betts (left) joins fresh from four years creative graft in New Zealand. During that time he worked with some of the region’s top production companies including The Sweet Shop, Flying Fish and Finch.  He also found time to be a lead VFX artist on all four seasons of the global smash-hit series ‘Spartacus’. Prior to this he spent seven years with London top shop The Mill. His credits during that tenure included Nike ‘Evolution’, Mercedes ‘Clouds’ and music clips for Indie heroes, The Prodigy and Bloc Party.

Says Emma Daines, owner/managing director at Fin: “It’s always a difficult task finding a new artist, because it’s not just about discovering great talent, it’s also about personality and team playing. I was delighted and fortunate that in meeting Richard, he was definitely a team player with the talent and experience to boot. The whole Fin team is looking forward to having him on board and introducing him to our clients.”

Says Betts: “The opportunity to work at Fin with VFX Supervisor, Justin Bromley and their award winning team was too good to miss!”
