David Elsworth.jpgDavid Elsworth, Campaign Asia Pacific Marketer of the Year 2012 (Japan), has recently returned to Australia to join Wonder, Sydney in board director and strategic resource role, after 14 years working in global roles – most recently as senior vice president at Coca-Cola Japan.

In his new role Elsworth will bring a wealth of big brand and global thinking to Wonder. He is a ‘make it happen’, award-winning marketer, achieving ‘Greatest commercial impact’ at the APG Creative Strategy Awards 2011, WARC and AME’s amongst others. During his time at Coca-Cola he led creative development and implementation of global advertising programs for core brands including Coca-Cola and Sprite, responsible for the universally acclaimed “The Coke Side of Life.”

Says Glen Condie, founder and creative director of Wonder: “David will challenge our team and clients in many ways, working both on our business and in it, to push us hard and make us better. We have made the decision to significantly grow the business, investing in really high quality people and at the same time investing in the coaching of the current team. Globally, activation agencies are on the rise, with a focus on the client’s need to ‘make it happen.”

It has been an outstanding few years for the Wonder with Cannes Gold Lions wins, Emmy nominations and Agency of the Year awards.

Says Elsworth: “I didn’t want to totally retire from the business. There is only so much skiing and surfing to be done and to drop out completely means missing so much I enjoy about the working in the industry. Coming home, no matter what you’ve done in that past, you start from ground zero and like that. I really like what Wonder is doing, it’s unconventional but also focused on making things happen. More action less talk, that’s what clients want. I’m really looking forward to the challenge with Wonder.”
