damon stapleton-web-thumb-400x266-63300.jpgADC has today announced it has achieved equal representation of women and men on all of its juries for ADC’s 93rd Annual Awards and Tomorrow Awards. This feat underscores ADC’s dedication to a gender-equal balance among award show juries, speaking engagements and boards of directors.

Damon Stapleton, executive creative director, Saatchi & Saatchi Australia is Australia’s only judge, who will sit on the advertising jury.

Says Ignacio Oreamuno, ADC executive director: “We are proud to be the first-ever organization to have a balanced jury. Our full list of juries includes some of the industries most talented women and men, and proves that positive change can take place. It is our intention, by calling for equal participation, that together we will shift the industry by highlighting strong female voices and showcasing the diverse wealth of talent out there.”

In 2012, ADC set to change industry standards and make measurable shifts in the roles and participation of women within the creative communication industry. In a short period of time, ADC has not only achieved its first gender-equal benchmark, it has also encouraged a significant number of major industry organizations and awards shows to join in the effort for 50/50 balance.

Says Oreamuno: “People said we couldn’t do it, but we and our partners who believe in this vision are proving that we can.”
