Adfest 2015 ‘Be Bad’ kicks off in Thailand

ADFEST2015.jpgAdfest 2015 “Be Bad” has kicked off with attitude at Peach, the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand. The 3-day event runs from 19th – 21st March 2015 and is hosting more than 1,000 delegates from over 57 cities this year.

Adfest Judging Panels:

Adfest has invited 56 distinguished creative leaders from 19 cities in Asia Pacific including including Auckland, Bangkok, Beirut, Dubai, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Melbourne, Mumbai, Nagoya, New York, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Washington, DC.

Heading up this renowned group is Grand, Film, Radio, Interactive and Mobile jury president Rei Inamoto, who is worldwide chief creative officer of AKQA New York and Global.

Says Inamoto: “Any awards show by its very nature is a reflection and celebration of the past. This year at Adfest, we have worked doubly hard to put forward work that is not only representing what’s happening today, but that is also pushing the industry forward. Selling products and services is an important aspect of advertising, but it is increasingly important to ask, ‘What contribution does this idea make to the brand, to the customers, and to society at large? As creative professionals, this question is becoming more and more important.”

Inamoto is also jury president for Lotus Roots, Integrated and INNOVA Lotus.

Adfest Lotus Awards: 18 Categories Spread over Two Nights of Awards Presentations:

There are 18 Adfest Lotus Award categories this year: Film, Radio, Promo, Effective, Media, Branded Content and Entertainment, Integrated, INNOVA, Interactive, Mobile, Print Craft, Design, Direct, Press, Outdoor, New Director, Film Craft and Lotus Roots.

Adfest has received more than 3,200 entries from agencies and production houses based in more than 35 cities across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, in the hope of winning a coveted Lotus Award this year.

Lotus Award Presentations will take place in the evening on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st March 2015.

On Friday night, the awards for 2015 Lotus Interactive, Mobile, Print Craft, Design, Direct, Press, Outdoor, New Director, Film Craft and Young Lotus winners will be unveiled.

On the final evening of Saturday, 21st March, the awards will be presented for Film, Radio, Promo, Effective, Media, Branded Content and Entertainment, Integrated, INNOVA Lotus, as well as Fabulous Four, Special Awards and Lotus Roots, culminating in the Lotus Legend Award, which recognizes people with long-standing contributions to the development of creative excellence in Asia Pacific.

Young Lotus Workshop:

This year’s is the 11th Young Lotus Workshop at Adfest. It was hosted by Dentsu Aegis Network, Asia Pacific and took place from 16th – 18th March 2015. The workshop was co-chaired by Ted Lim, regional CCO Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific and Dick van Motman, chairman & CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia. Akira Kagami, global executive creative advisor, Dentsu Inc., Japan contributed as chief instructor. The theme was “Badass Innovation”.

26 young creatives from 13 cities participated this year, including teams from Bangkok, Columbo, Dhaka, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Mumbai, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo.

The winners will be announced at the Lotus Awards Presentation on Friday, 20th March and Saturday, 20st March.

World Producers Summit:

Now an established part of the Adfest programme, The World Producers Summit will take place on Thursday, 19th March and is open to production company owners and executive producers. It provides a forum to discuss specific issues in the production industry and share experiences and opinions.

Steve Davies, chief executive of the Advertising Producers Association (APA) and executive vice president of the Commercial Film Producers of Europe (CFPE) will chair the summit at Adfest 2015.

Adfest EXHIBITION – Production Hut & Digital Hut

This year Adfest has dedicated space to production and digital companies that work closely with the advertising industry to craft and perfect great advertising ideas.

There are over 21 companies exhibiting their specialist skills. Delegates can browse and connect with them during breakout sessions for coffee and lunch.

 

Adfest strives to provide a creative forum and stimulus for learning for the advertising community in Asia Pacific. Every year, the great cultural diversity of work from the region is showcased, rewarded and celebrated.
