cliomusicjury.jpgThe CLIO Awards has today announced the jury for the 2015 CLIO Music Awards, which celebrates excellence in music-industry marketing and advertising.

Deadline for entries is May 29th. The second-annual program features an expert panel comprised of the top minds and talent across the music industry-from artists to producers to executives-voting on the best ideas and creative of the year. CLIO Music also collaborated with Adweek for the publication’s March 16 Music Issue.

Bringing their experience and talent to the jury are Janelle Monáe, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, performer and producer; and Aloe Blacc, singer-songwriter and musician. Monáe’s year started off big, with a soulful performance of “As” at Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life–An All-Star Grammy Salute alongside India.Arie and Jill Scott. Her Atlanta-based custom label Wondaland Records also recently entered a joint venture with Epic Records. The Wondaland Records debut compilation release will be available on May 19.

Last year, Blacc rocked the CLIO Awards stage with a rousing performance of “The Man” for Beats by Dr. Dre after topping the Billboard, Shazam and CLIO Breakthrough chart, highlighting a commercial synch that helped an existing song reach new heights in popularity. On March 3, he was announced on the Playboy Jazz Festival lineup, and is featured on Fashawn’s “Something to Believe In” with Nas.

Says Nicole Purcell, president, CLIO: “CLIO Music is about honoring the incredible work of the people who propel the music business through creative efforts, from artist promotion to the expert ways in which music is integrated in advertising. It’s the talent of these creative leaders that connects people to brands, motivates them to join causes and inspires them to expand their horizons through music.”

The 2015 CLIO Music awards, which will be given at the CLIO Awards gala event on September 30 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, recognize exemplary creative work for artist self-promotion, music marketing, brand collaborations and the use of music in advertising campaigns. Last year’s event was hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.

CLIO Music is in partnership once again with Billboard, the leading global destination for charts, news, trends and innovations in music.

CLIOs will be given to work in more than 15 categories spanning design, events/ experiential marketing, film, innovative, integrated campaigns, partnerships/collaborations, digital/social and use of music.
