AD STARS 2015_Call for Entries.jpgThe entry deadline for the 8th annual Ad Stars global festival, where two US$10,000 cash prizes will be awarded, is just a month away. The Korean-based AdStars 2015 is free to enter and a top class judging panel is being assembled to assess entries from across the world.

As it’s free to enter Ad Stars provides a unique opportunity to for all agencies to test their award entries on a world stage in front of a world-class jury.

This year’s panels will be lead by Executive Judges (pictured below) Matt Eastwood (J. Walter Thompson worldwide chief creative officer), Jean-Remi von Matt (founder & chief creative officer Jung von Matt) and Jose Miguel Sokoloff (President/Lowe & Partners Global Creative Council)

Entries are classified into total of 21 categories: 4 new video sections, including Branded Information Videos, Branded Entertainment Videos, Branded Viral Videos and Campaign Videos, as well as 17 advertising sections, PSA, Film, Print and Outdoor. The deadline for entry is 15 May 2015 – see www.adstars.org

AdStarsJudges2015.jpgThe entries go through online preliminary judging and on/offline final rounds judged by panels of 230 advertising experts from 60 countries. Approximately 2,000 entries (the top 15%) will be accorded the privilege to advance into the final round and judged by the final round judges in Busan, South Korea this August. Winners will be awarded trophies, with one in the PSA category and another in the Product and Service category picking up the prize of US$10,000 each.

Last year AdStars attracted 12,591 entries from 62 countries – a 4.2 percent increase compared to 2013.

Last year the big winners were Volvo Trucks “Live Test Series” campaign by Forsman & Bodenfors from Sweden and  “Sound of Honda / Ayrton Senna 1989” for Honda Motors by Dentsu from Japan. And in the Public Service Advertising category “Human Traffic Signs” for Shanghai General Motors by Lowe China won the Grand Prix.

The Digital Videos section, the new addition to Ad Stars this year, limits entry to branded videos. A branded video, according to the Ad Stars Organizing Committee, is a video clip produced or paid for by a business or organization to promote its brand aiming to build brand loyalty by entertaining and eliciting participation by consumers. Videos may be entered regardless of its format and platform as long as the requirements are met.

In its 8th iteration this year, AdStars will be held in Busan from 20-22 August.
