Walker joins from Wieden + Kennedy Portland where he served as creative director for the past four and a half years, leading key clients such as Samsung, Dodge Chrysler, Booking.com and TurboTax.

He will partner with the current APAC leadership team consisting of Mollie Hill, director of strategy, Ngaio McCreadie, director of operations and talent, Chris Kay, managing director and partner of APAC, and Johnny Tan, executive creative director of APAC.

Says Tan: “In a business that’s all about people, we could not be more excited about having an extraordinary talent and leader like Micah to be a part of our team. His experience in Australia and the US, as well as his unique care for the work will help inspire truly disruptive work in this office.”

Says Kay: “We had a brief to find someone, who with the rest of the gang, could help us deliver on our creative ambition in Sydney. We wanted someone who had the perfect mix of local knowledge and a truly global track record, as well as having a wry wit, a good dose of mischief, and an ability to chew tobacco like nobody else. Micah was the only person we could find who would fit that bill, so we are pretty stoked he has decided to jump on board.”

Walker has served as executive creative director at Sydney agencies including: The Monkeys, Mojo and Leo Burnett Sydney, and helped produce some of Australia’s most unique and memorable work.

In 2013 Walker left Leo Burnett Sydney to join Fallon London in the role of creative director and partner, where he stayed for four years, during the agency’s storied, creative run. In 2007 Walker returned to Australia to take up the role of ECD at Publicis Mojo Sydney, where he stayed until his departure from the agency in 2011. Walker went on to join The Monkeys in 2012 in the role of creative partner until returning to the US in 2013 to fill the role of ECD at Wieden + Kennedy Portland.

Says Walker: “Almost five years ago, my family and I left for an adventure in Portland. As much as I loved W+K and the people there, not a day went by that we didn’t miss Australia. We’re stoked to be back home, close to family and good mates. And I’m genuinely excited to join 72andSunny and help the rest of the team here build something different and special.”
